					Two great weeks travelling Sri Lanka! We were lucky enough to have Kapu (Saliya) as our driver for our two week trip in Sri Lanka that took across several spots across the island and numerous different trips, tours and experiences. 

Despite the fact that we had already booked our hotel locations before having booked Lanka Tours - they put together a great itinerary that covered everything that we wanted to do and see, with additional suggestions and tours!

Kapu was an exceptional driver - regardless of the sometimes long distances or amount of excursions during the day, Kapu was endlessly attentive and full of information and tips to all the places we visited. 

We also had the absolute pleasure of his wife joining us for the tour, as it we travelling over the New Year and didn't want Kapu (or his wife) to be alone - we had a great time and they were also very respectful of our time together and exploring or adjusting plans as we needed throughout the trip. My wife and I have just returned from an unforgettable six-day journey with Lanka Tour Experts, and we honestly can’t stop talking about it. It was one of those rare trips where every day felt like an adventure, and by the end, we couldn’t believe we had only been there for six days—it felt like we had experienced a month’s worth of beauty, culture, and incredible moments.

From the very start, everything was seamlessly organised, yet we never felt rushed or restricted by a rigid schedule. Roshan, our driver and guide, was absolutely fantastic—kind, knowledgeable, and always making sure we were comfortable and happy. He made the entire experience feel effortless, and his passion for his country was infectious.

The accommodation was excellent, with beautiful 4-star hotels offering some of the most breathtaking views we have ever seen. The food? Simply out of this world. Every meal was an explosion of flavours, and Roshan always knew the best local spots to take us. The variety of landscapes we encountered was stunning—from the warm coastal breeze to the crisp, cool air in the mountains. Sri Lanka’s flora and fauna are absolutely mesmerising, and just witnessing the changes in climate and scenery as we travelled was an experience in itself.

One of the most special moments of our trip was when Roshan invited us into his home for a homemade meal. Sitting down with his family and enjoying an incredible Talapat (sailfish) curry, eaten the traditional Sri Lankan way (with our fingers!), was a memory we will cherish forever. It was a true glimpse into local life, and the warmth of their hospitality was deeply touching.

And just when we thought the service couldn’t get any better—my wife accidentally left her ring behind, and one of the Lanka Tour Experts’ owners personally went out of his way to retrieve it and bring it to our hotel before our flight. That level of care and dedication is rare!

We would highly recommend Lanka Tour Experts to anyone looking for an authentic, stress-free, and truly magical experience in Sri Lanka. This trip was worth every penny!

					5 Stars! My partner and I did a 4 night tour with Lanka Tour Experts and I couldn’t recommend this company enough. I just wish we could’ve had longer! Initially I was emailing back and forth with Ushan who was very helpful and responsive, he answered all questions I had and allowed us to amend the itinerary with no problems at all. Then when we landed in Sri Lanka we were met by our tour guide, Chama, at the airport. From the moment Chama picked us up, he was attentive, enthusiastic and he was incredibly knowledgeable and trustworthy. We had the flexibility to do what we wanted when we wanted as we went along. He really made the tour amazing for us. I feel as though I have a friend in Sir Lanka now. Using Lanka Tours meant dealing directly with a local company, so no UK middle man and better prices.

In terms of the tour itself, we went from Dambulla>Kandy>Ella>Yala>Galle. This was quite a lot to pack into 5 days/4 nights, with a lot of driving! We knew this going in and didn’t have the time for a longer trip but if you can I would recommend giving yourself a more time so it’s not so full on! We opted for the 3 star package on the basis you’re not spending much time in the hotels 2 of the hotels were lovely (one even bumped up to the deluxe suite, curtesy of  Chama calling ahead and pulling strings!). The other 2 were a little more basic but still clean, with AC, hot water and had great food - so no complaints!

					Spectacular adventures, authentic experiences in one of the last frontiers! Right from the beginning planning stages there was great communication . My questions were answered promptly. The suggestions made based upon my desired experience were taken into consideration during the building of my itinerary.  

My guide Chama was very professional, punctual and a pleasure to deal with.  He was very knowledgeable of many aspects of Sri Lanka, from the geography to the history as well as the wildlife and flora and fauna. 

I must admit I was a bit concerned about spending 12 days in close quarters with a perfect stranger I’m rather new to travel and I like my me time.  Chama was very perceptive and sensitive to my moods (to talk or not to talk etc), he went out of his way on more than one occasion to help me out in my endeavours and when I carelessly forgot my shoes at a lodge hours away.  If I had to do it again, I would have scheduled in some time to explore some of the cities en route.  If you like to wander a bit and get a feel for the culture you’ll have to make sure to specify as the schedule is pretty full and time can be of the essence.  I opted for midrange accommodations (3&4star), however one must take into consideration that the country’s standards are not that of many other more developed countries.so if you are particular about your accommodations, you may want to choose an upgraded option. 

You must remember that almost every attraction or site that you experience/visit has an entry fee ($5-$150 USD) - also if you want to actually learn about the site you are visiting it will cost you an additional amount for a guide to accompany you (avg $25USD). 

I would highly recommend Lanka Tour Experts for your visit.

Sri Lanka is a beautiful country, still somewhat authentic and not yet overpriced or overcrowded - I have a sneaking suspicion that may not last much longer!!

					Excellent assistance in planning the trip and then a fantastic driver for 10 days We have not been to Sri Lanka before and took advice from friends to use a tour company, we found Lanka Tour Experts online and have been very impressed by them.

The most important part of the tour package is your driver / guide, as you are going to spend a lot of time with them.  We had Kan (Kanchana) and he was absolutely great.  As he got to know us and our travel background, he was able to recommend modifications to our itinerary, so we tailored the tour as we went.  He was very helpful indeed and nothing was too much trouble, including dropping us to start a walk at 4am. We asked him to take us to local lunch places away from the tourist trail, and he found us great spots.  He spoke with guides at the main sites to confirm we paid the correct price.  He even organised a cake and small celebration for my wife's birthday!  He drove us well and safely, his English is very good, overall he was a fun guy to spend time with.   

The other big element is planning the tour, here we dealt with Ushan in the office by email and WhatsApp.  He was most responsive, his English was excellent and his emails very clear.  He proposed a good starting itinerary and then modified it based on our feedback.  Payment was by credit card via a secure link, during the tour we used a mix of card and cash. 

Overall I would definitely recommend this organisation for people new to Sri Lanka and wanting a quality tour company.

					A vivid experience of the country. To begin with, I decided to take on the services of Lanka Tour Experts because of the very attentive, respectful and prompt response of Ushan, the manager of LTE.

I got the name of this agency from a suggestion made by ChatGPT according to my travel wishes. Other names came up too but no one answered as quickly and clearly as Lanka Tour Experts.

With every change I needed to make because of a couple of personal unforeseen circumstances, Ushan was willing to help me out in the best possible way.

On the very first day of the tour I was confronted with an unpleasant situation concerning the visits that had been mentioned in the detailed description of the tour and that - according to me - were included in the price and the fact that they were actually not.

Nevertheless, Ushan remained polite and helpful at all times and we could sort out our differences in a pleasant and fair way.

That Ushan was also open to the feedback I gave, showed his high social and professional skills.

This gave my trust in Ushan and the agency a big boost.

The rest of my experience was based on a clear communication and an enormous flexibility from our driver Roshan part.

Eventhough driving in Sri Lanka can be quite challenging, I felt safe with Roshan in the car. He was focused and careful. His hands on the steering wheel at all times.

After a couple of days, when he started to know our preferences, Roshan came up with suggestions concerning alternatives on visits and experiences (also at a culinary level) along the route. We certainly appreciated his input.

All with all, I look back at our experience with Lanka Tour Experts with a big smile and a feeling of gratitude.

					5 stars customized 8 days tour Before departure Ushan who is the contact person always answer our questions regarding our 8 days customized private tour through email in a prompted manner. We have so many questions and Ushan's reply always lowered our anxiety before our departure. Our 8 days tour was well taken care by our driver, Kan, who is a kind, responsible and puntual guy. He can make slight adjustment to our itinerary so that it makes more sense according to our actual flow of the day. His driving was super safe and we never felt rushed for a second throughout the 8 days tour. 					Two week honeymoon We booked our trip to Sri Lanka for our honeymoon through Lanka Tour Experts and they couldn’t have been more helpful. 

Communication with Ushan from the start was excellent, giving helpful, detailed answers and always promptly. 

They put together an itinerary which was flexible and packed of activities, which was what we wanted. They made suggestions of things that were not included in ‘standard’ tours which I had seen when researching.

					22 Tour in Sri Lanka When we were looking at booking our trip we contacted about 6 companies to get an idea of what they could offer and by far the level of communication from Ushan in the office was so much more superior  as he listened to & answered all of our questions in detail compared to many of the other companies who were just interested in booking us on a trip itinary the same as everyone else. 					Wonderful trip I highly recommend Lanka tour experts.  I had an amazing trip even though it was short ( 6days, 5nights) , I covered pretty much all touristic spots .

First of all, the response was always quick and you could manage your trip according to your plan .

Secondly,  the touristic guide Mr CHAMA is definitely  the nicest person in Srilanka , always smiling and respectful.  Also, he is knowledgeable, flexible for all your requests,  he made my trip very smooth and cozy . As a Muslim,  I needed to pray in mosques along the way and Mr Chama was so helpful and dropped me off whenever I asked . 

Finally,  I had a memorable stay in Srilanka and definitely will be back with same guide.

					Good operator: Responsive and reliable We used Ushan and his team for a tour in Sri Lanka and several transfers over a 3 week period. Although probably not the cheapest, we found Ushan and our driver Buddika to be really reliable and responsive with Buddika also driving safely. Ushan’s English was excellent while Buddika’s was sufficient to explain the highlights or to deal with dinner plans or small detours when needed. When our plans changed, Ushan was flexible and apart from one small hiccup, all went well. The bus used was not new but did the job although sitting in a bus for 4 hours is never pleasant. 					Charming Lanka Tours We spent a wonderful two weeks in Sri Lanka, on a private tour organised by Lanka Tour Experts. The service was second none. We cannot speak more highly of our wonderful driver Chamara, who was so kind, thoughtful and intuitive throughout our trip. We requested mid level hotels and the ones chosen by Lanka Tours were all great and very reasonably priced. Our driver Chama greeted us each morning with such a big warm smile that we couldn't help but have a great day. Nothing was too difficult and he was open to any variations in our itinerary that we might request. An added bonus was that they carried a huge 20ltr bottle of filtered water so that we could refill our water bottles each day, Plastic is a huge problem in Sri Lanka and it was nice to know we weren't adding to the problem.  Getting around in Sri Lanka on public transport is not for the faint hearted, we felt much safer with an experienced local driver. We would definitely recommend LTE if considering a trip to Sri Lanka.

					Vacation of a life time! We went on a 12 day customized trip with Lanka Tour Experts and could not have been happier.

Ushan helped us get the perfect itinerary together and was probably  THE  easiest travel agent to get along with. Ever. 

He was incredibly attentive to details, patient and very professional. He also was great with communication. We either received return E-mails the same day or latest by the following day. 

We had Chama as our personal driver and guide and were also very happy with him. He has a very pleasant and calm personality, is very flexible and easy to talk to. He drove us around for 12 days, and even accompanied us on excursions which was very reassuring to us.

					A great trip! We had a great tour with Lanka Tour experts and our driver Pradeep. We did the 3 day tour including Kandy, Sigiriya, Dambulla and Pinnawala. 

The company was very professional and efficient with communication prior to our trip and we were able to personalise the itinerary to end in Galle to fit with our travel plans.

Our driver was also very professional, friendly and accommodating with great local knowledge. It was a great way to be able to see the highlights of central Sri Lanka and I would highly recommend booking a trip with them 🙂

					Chama is the best guide ever! I spent 2 weeks in Sri Lanka and I could have not chosen a better guide. He is such a great person! He is always willing to do whatever their clients want to and the most important thing, he is not charging you for doing that (not all guides do that) He gets adapted easily to any plan and always with a smile. By all means, he knows everything about Sri Lanka and he always jut recommend you the best things. Moreover, I would like to mention, he has a lovely family! 					Wonderful tour! We did the seven day tour, and it was excellent.  The company was very responsive before and during our tour.  The itinerary was varied and took us to some very interesting and beautiful places.   Our driver could not have been better -  Chama was charming, friendly, super-helpful, flexible and always on time. 					Amazing Sri Lanka with Chama!! We visited Sri Lanka with our three children traveling from Dambulla and Sigiriya to the Awanatuna beaches. Everything was marvellous!!

Temples in Dambulla, views from Sigiriya, elephants and buffalos in the Natural Parks, the train from Nuwara to Ella (the nicest I have never took), Wijaya beach, Galle Fort, ... and everything thanks to Chama. Chama took care of us from our arrival, showing us places that we would not have visited without him. Thank Chama for guiding us through your marvellous country!! 					Excellent in every way! As a retired couple who have seen much of the world, when making an online booking we look for professionalism, a high value product and similar high levels of service given in a most personal way. Certainly Chamara from Sri Lanka Economy Tours fitted the bill!

In the 15 days we were together we travelled to places we had not previously visited due to the Civil War, such as Jaffna and the East Coast. Whilst tourism infrastructure in these areas is in an early stage, Chamara managed to hire transport (train tickets, speed boat, tuk tuk and Jeep) for us to access these areas. We interfaced with locals in such an interesting way.

Unfortunately due to a chest infection of my wife our itinerary had to be adjusted and this was no trouble for Charmara who was most understanding and supportive.  The itinerary was totally flexible.

Other services Chamara provided were shopping tips, hairdressers, restaurants, tourism highlights. His punctuality was spot on, the car was kept clean, water was always available and we shared lots of fun moments!

					Great experience Me and my wife came to quickly organised 8 day holiday to Sri Lanka. This was our first time in Sri Lanka and divided in two: 3 days trip to see sights plus 4 days of leisure. 

Having found out that car+guide would be far better option than car, we asked for offers from four tour operators found in the Internet and selected Sri Lanka Economy tours even though they had very few reviews in Tripadvisor.

We wanted a three day trip (too short) to see some sites: Dambulla, Sigiriya and Kandy

Reasons for selecting Economy tours?

Based on our vague hopes they offered the best tour plan with optional sites offered/listed in the plan and all the relevant prices.

They were the only one to point out that we need to leave our hotel early (07.30 instead of 10.00 that we suggested) to see both Minniriya and Dambulla during the same day without hurry. Also their overall price was competetive.

Our guide Chamara came as agreed to pick us up. Car was in good condition (newish Honda hybrid) and clean. 

Evidently he has been doing tours for six years and the company is a new one having started operating in November (that's why only a few reviews).

During the three days Chamara turned to be good driver, trustworthy, very helpful and easy guy to talk about different aspects of Sri Lankan life (education, healthcare, sports, nature, curry etc.) and compare notes with Finnish equivalents as well as the history of the sites visited. He listened our hopes and unerringly took us where needed and offered advice when that was needed.

All in all very enjoyable three days. Especially Sigiriya was magnificient. Sadly three days is too short time offering only a glimpse to Sri Lankan history.

We can't compare the service with other operators but we can highly recommend Chamara/Economy tours and based on this experience we will be returning to Sri Lanka!

One extra note: thanks to the lunch places suggested by Chamara my wife now likes curry!

					Great 7 Days to Visit Sri Lanka! Hi everyone, I tour with my wife. This is the best tour I ever had. Sri Lanka Economy Tours, ah! You're great. We took 7 days pack, with 6 accommodation nights. 5 of those are excellent, one hotel with a little trouble but it's ignorable. Driver is excellent, very friendly. He arranged us two extra travel points freely with getting a negotiation from his management himself. He never push us to buy anything. And excellent very flexible.
