After being greeted and taken to the Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage by our driver, you can see over a hundred injured or orphaned elephants. Watch as the baby elephants are fed and the elephants bathe in the Maha Oya River. The orphanage is home to a variety of elephants, including young calves, adolescents, and adults. Visitors can learn about the elephants’ care and conservation from the dedicated mahouts and volunteers who work at the orphanage.
Next, you will go to Kandy, the last kingdom of Sri Lanka. You will visit the Royal Botanical Garden, which was once the king’s garden. You can see the flowerbeds, which are taken care of very well, the trees that are important to history, and the orchid garden, which is very beautiful. You can walk slowly along the paths and enjoy the quiet ponds.
After that, you will visit the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic, which is a very holy place for Buddhists. The tooth relic of Lord Buddha is kept in this temple. You can learn about the rich history of this temple, which was once a palace for the last king, Sri Wickrama Rajasinghe.
In the afternoon, you will take a city tour of Kandy, the cultural capital of Sri Lanka, including the Old English Market, the old prison, and the beautiful Kandy Lake. The day will end with a traditional Kandyan dancing show, a vibrant and colorful performance that showcases the rich culture and heritage of Sri Lanka. You will then go to your hotel to rest and relax.

On the second day, we will explore the cultural treasures of the Cultural Triangle. We will start by visiting the Matale Hindu Temple and Nalanda Gedige, two sites that showcase the diverse religious traditions of Sri Lanka. Nalanda Gedige is a unique and fascinating site, with a blend of Hindu and Buddhist architecture. It is also considered to be the geographical center of Sri Lanka.
Next, we will proceed to Dambulla, an important pilgrimage site for Sri Lankan Buddhists and home to the awe-inspiring Dambulla Cave Temple complex, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This complex houses five caves adorned with intricate stone carvings and ancient murals depicting the life of Buddha.
We will explore the caves, marveling at the intricate carvings and stunning murals. In the Golden Temple, one of the five caves, we will admire the magnificent golden Buddha statue.
Our next destination is Kandalama Lake, one of Sri Lanka’s oldest lakes. It is still vital for agricultural purposes, particularly paddy farming. Finally, we will head to Sigiriya, where you will spend the night at a comfortable hotel.

Wake up early on the last day for a thrilling hike to Pidurangala. Once at the top, enjoy a breathtaking 360-degree panoramic view of the sunrise. This rock was once the site of an ancient cave temple. As you descend, you can see ruined Buddha statues, which add to the mystery of the place.
After breakfast at your hotel, you will visit the iconic Sigiriya Lion Rock, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This ancient rock fortress, also known as the Fortress in the Sky, was built by King Kashyapa in the 5th century AD and served as his royal palace and stronghold.
After climbing the 1,200 steps to the top of the rock, you will be rewarded with stunning views of the surrounding countryside, including the well-planned gardens and water gardens below.
Don’t miss the mesmerizing Sigiriya Fresco Paintings, a collection of ancient Buddhist and Hindu murals that adorn the western face of the rock. The Mirror Wall, a polished rock surface that once reflected the king’s image, is also a must-see.
At the end of the tour, we will return to Colombo, marking the end of this unforgettable 3-day Sri Lanka experience.
